Semi Permanent Brows Aftercare Advice

Updated: Oct 30, 2019

Love this illustration to describe the healing process!

Most people who come to me for Semi Permanent Brows often arrive with a LOT of questions. All of which I am happy to answer but by the time they leave the appointment they may feel a little overwhelmed bu information. So to help I wrote this blog as a little reminder of the aftercare process and what to expect in the days following your treatment...

So to save them remembering everything I’ve said take note of the below advice..

Do not panic that the area may show redness and swelling – this is quite normal. You may find that the colour feels dark and intense but remember this will soften when fully healed.

You may notice a whiteness or blanching around the area, this will subside within 12 hours.

If you find any lymphatic fluid or blood weeping then you can gently clean the area with saline or cool boiled water and gauze. Blot the area dry to remove all moisture.

If showering within 48 hours, avoid the water jets directly hitting the treated area and it's probably best to avoid washing your hair. Try to avoid the gym, sauna or pool.

If you wish to apply makeup then it is recommended that you buy new products to avoid cross contamination.

Do not pull or pick at the treated area as it will result in pigment loss.

After approximately 1 week the scabs should have all come away.

When the scabbing has come away you will see a different colour to the one implanted - it may look dull, grey, slightly patchy... Remember, it will take a full 4/6 weeks for the colour to fully develop under the skin. After this time additional treatments can take place.

To keep your micro-pigmentation looking its best it is recommended that you have your colour refreshed every 12/18 months.
